Multi-Scale Autoregressive Processes
In many applications (e.g. recognition of geophysical and biomedical signals and multiscale analysis of images), it is of interest to analyze and recognize phenomena occuring at different scales. The recently introduced wavelet transforms provide a time-and-scale decomposition of signals that offers the possibility of such analysis. At present, however, there is no corresponding statistical fra...
متن کاملParameter estimation for non-Gaussian autoregressive processes
It is proposed to jointly estimate the parameters of nonGaussian autoregressive (AR) processes in a Bayesian context using the Gibbs sampler. Using the Markov chains produced by the sampler an approximation to the vector MAP estimator is implemented. The results reported here used AR(4) models driven by noise sequences where each sample is iid as a two component Gaussian sum mixture. The result...
متن کاملOn periodic autoregressive processes estimation
We consider the autoregressive estimation for periodically correlated processes, using the parameterization given by the partial autocorrelation function. We propose an estimation of these parameters by extending the sample partial autocorrelation method to this situation. The comparison with other methods is made. Relationships with the stationary multivariate case are discussed.
متن کاملWeighted Least Squares Approximate Restricted Likelihood Estimation for Vector Autoregressive Processes
We derive a weighted least squares approximate restricted likelihood estimator for a kdimensional pth order autoregressive model with intercept, for which exact likelihood optimization is generally infeasible due to the parameter space which is complicated and highdimensional, involving pk2 parameters. The weighted least squares estimator has significantly reduced bias and mean squared error th...
متن کاملAsymptotic statistical properties of autoregressive model for mixed spectrum estimation
This work addresses the influence of point spectrum on large sample statistics of the autoregressive spectral estimator. In particular, the asymptotic distributions of the AR coefficients, the innovations variance, and the spectral density estimator of a finite order AR(p) model for a mixed spectrum process are presented. Numerical simulations are performed to verify the analytical results.
